ABOUT CHRIS MELE
Christopher Mele, synonymous with excellence in journalism, has left an indelible mark on the news industry with his four-decade career as a reporter and editor. His contributions have been recognized in various newsrooms across New York and Pennsylvania, including The Adirondack Daily Enterprise, The Press-Republican, The Times Herald-Record, The Journal-News, and The Pocono Record.

In 2014, Mele joined the Metro copy desk of The New York Times, and he currently serves as the weekend deputy editor on its breaking news desk, the Express Team. He was part of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize finalist team for breaking news coverage of a fire in the Bronx that claimed 17 lives.
