ABOUT CHRIS MELE

Christopher Mele, synonymous with excellence in journalism, has left an indelible mark on the news industry with his four-decade career as a reporter and editor. His contributions have been recognized in various newsrooms across New York and Pennsylvania, including The Adirondack Daily Enterprise, The Press-Republican, The Times Herald-Record, The Journal-News, and The Pocono Record.

THE NEW YORK TIMES

In 2014, Mele joined the Metro copy desk of The New York Times, and he currently serves as the weekend deputy editor on its breaking news desk, the Express Team.


He was part of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize finalist team for breaking news coverage of a fire in the Bronx that claimed 17 lives.

GOODWILL'S SECRETS

While Mele spent decades dedicated to nonfiction and news writing, he unexpectedly found himself drawn to fiction during the COVID-19 pandemic. After publishing his first novel, "Goodwill's Secrets," a gripping mystery set in the Adirondacks, he is working on his second book.

When not writing, Mele enjoys the serenity of the Pocono woodlands, where he resides. He continues his long-standing quest to spot a moose in the wild.
